Why is Tao Maha Brahma famous?
As a benign god, Brahma is believed to be able to fulfill wishes of people who come to pray before him. So the Brahma shrine at the Ratchaprasong intersection or Brahma of Erawan Grand Hyatt hotel in Bangkok attracts many prayers everyday.

Many people also go to this world famous shrine of Brahma to pay respect to the sacred statue and make offerings for their dues after their wishes has been granted.
History of Tao Maha Brahma Shrine
The history of the shrine is closely related to the Erawan hotel, the previous 5 star hotel at the same site of Erawan Hyatt today. The Erawan hotel construction began in 1953 and completed at the end of 1955.
The founder of the hotel was told by the specialized astrologist(Luang Suwichanphaet) that the original moment of laying the foundation stone was not really right auspicious time. It must be corrected by building a shrine of the Tao Maha Brahma in the area of the hotel. Then a shrine with the image of Tao Maha Brahma was built followed the advice.

The hotel had been renovated for decade but the shrine still have remained at the previous site.
The image was a sculpture in plaster covered with gold leaf which was designed by the Fine Arts Department's artisan. It was brought to enshrine there since November 9th, 1956 and a worship ceremony of the image has been annually held on the same day.
